What is Nitro Coffee?

Nitro coffee is cold brew coffee which has been infused with Nitrogen gas. The Nitrogen creates a smooth creamy texture, much like Guinness, without any need for dairy. The addition of the Nitrogen also creates a cascade when poured, which then results in a foamy head, even on black coffee.

In terms of its drinking qualities, Nitro coffee is smoother, sweeter, and less acidic than hot coffee. There are huge health benefits as the Nitrogen gas makes a creamy coffee with no dairy, appealing to dairy free diets including Keto. It is also naturally sweetened during the infusion process which means it is a sugar free drink.

Historically Nitro coffee could only be found in supermarkets by the can or in coffee shops which have a  large draught keg to produce the drink. The NitroPress is the first in the world which enables the user to create Nitro coffee at home. You can see more about how the NitroPress works here.

The production of Nitro coffee begins with creating cold brew coffee which is produced by grinding coffee beans coarsely and combining with water, then allowing it to steep overnight for around 12 hours. During this time the coffee slowly infuses into the water, creating a strong concentrated brew. For those who can’t commit to making their own cold brew, there is NitroPress Rapid Cold Brew coffee - another world first - which creates instant cold brew coffee without the hours of preparation, but never compromising on taste and quality.
